MIL-T-62110G
3.7.2 Dielectric properties. The extension shall withstand a minimum of 100,000 volts ac, 60 Hertz, applied across the full length of the derrick extension for not less than 3 minutes without evidence of dielectric puncture and with leakage of not more than 1.0 milliampere when tested in accordance with ANSI A92.2. Any mechanism within or along the extension shall be made of dielectric materials or so insulated as to demonstrate the same dielectric properties as the extension. The extension components shall be completely insulated from the derrick assembly, turret, and fiberglass basket. The fiberglass basket(s) shall withstand a minimum of
30,000 volts ac, 60 Hertz, without evidence of dielectric puncture. The basket liner(s) shall withstand a minimum of 50,000 volts ac, 60 Hertz for not less than one minute without evidence of dielectric puncture. A decal shall be furnished and installed on the basket stating "NO INSULATION VALUE WITHOUT LINER."
3.7.3 Aerial basket(s). Unless otherwise specified, a one-man, single side-hung basket, having a total payload capacity of not less than 300 pounds, shall be furnished. When specified (see 6.2), two one-man baskets shall be furnished. When two, one-man baskets are furnished the total payload capacity shall be not less than 500 pounds. Minimum interior dimensions of the basket(s) shall be not less than 42 inches in depth, 22.50 inches in width, and 20 inches front to the back. Minimum interior dimensions shall be measured at the bottom of the basket(s) just above the bottom radii. The basket(s) shall be fully enclosed on five sides and provided with a molded-in step, protruding towards the outside, to permit entrance and exit. The basket(s) and mounting bracket shall be accessible for field installation on the derrick extension (see 3.7) and for removal and stowage on the vehicle. Means shall be provided to secure the basket(s) in the vehicle loadspace.
3.7.3.1 Insulated basket liner(s). An insulated basket liner shall be provided for each basket. The liner(s) shall be capable of being easily removed for cleaning and testing their dielectric capacity. The basket liner(s) shall be in accordance with the performance requirements specified in 3.7.2.
3.7.3.2 Flooring. The basket(s) shall have a reinforced floor. No point in the flooring shall deflect more than 1/4 inch nor be permanently deformed when subjected to a vertical load of 300 pounds covering an area of 25 square inches. A nonconductive floor mat shall be provided for each basket.
3.7.3.3 Basket leveling system. An independent basket leveling system shall be provided for keeping the basket horizontal in all derrick positions. The leveling system shall consist of a basket gravity leveling system and shall be independently capable of keeping the basket level with the rated load on the basket with the load positioned on the floor of the basket. An adjustment shall be provided to enable personnel in the basket to control the rate of movement of the basket relative to the derrick position and to lock the basket in a fixed position
