controls and the chart recorder. The refrigerator shall be operated to the extent necessary to verify that it does produce and maintain a temperature of 35.6°F (2°C) to 39.2°F (4°C). Upon completion of the tests, all equipment, components and accessories shall be examined for damage or defects caused by the test.
4.4.4.8 Test of stabilizing Jacks. To determine conformance to 3.5.14, the stabilizing jacks shall be tested. With the jacks in place, the adjustable jacks shall be operated to level and stabilize the vehicle. The jacks shall be observed for proper operation without binding or malfunction. The vehicle shall be observed to verify the jacks will provide adequate leveling and stability in relation to the ground, under normal stationary service.
4.4.5 Production sample. Upon acceptance of the, first production vehicle, it shall remain at the manufacturing facility as a production sample and shall be the last vehicle shipped on the contract. The contractor shall maintain the vehicle in a serviceable condition for the duration of the contract.
4.4.6 Failure. Failure of the first production vehicle to meet any of the requirements of the contract shall be cause for rejection of the vehicle. Further, the Government shall continue to refuse acceptance of all vehicles under the contract, until the contractor has taken corrective action to eliminate the cause(s) of the failure.
4.5 Production vehicle inspection. Each completed production vehicle shall be subjected to dimensional inspection and operational tests as specified in section 3. The vehicle, associated controls and equipment shall be operated to the extent necessary to verify conformance to contractual requirements. The contractor's inspection system, as a minimum, shall assure that
the vehicle and attached equipment conforms to the dimensional and operational requirements and the vehicle is capable of meeting the requirements herein. For each vehicle under contract, the contractor shall make available to the Government, at the point of final acceptance, records acceptable to the Government. The records shall indicate that servicing and adjusting required by 3.6 have been accomplished.
4.5.1 Vehicle body inspection. Vehicle bodies installed on the chassis shall be inspected for the characteristics and defects contained in table II. Sampling for inspection shall be in accordance with MIL-STD-105. Acceptance and rejection shall be in accordance with acceptance and rejection criteria of MIL-STD-105. Vehicle bodies shall be inspected for
conformance to Acceptable Quality Level (AQL) on the basis of percent defective as specified in table II.
