MIL-V-62347(AT)
4.7 Conformance verification.
4.7.1 Weather seal leak test. To determine conformance to 3.4.4.1 and 3.4.5, all hatches, vision blocks and other installed vehicle components, such as the launcher, erection arm, periscopes, smoke grenade launchers, and ramp access doors shall be operated and examined for functional requirements. With all hatches closed, and vision blocks and other components properly installed, a spray of water shall be directed on the hatches, vision blocks and other components. Spray shall be applied from an open hose, with a line pressure of not less than
35 psi, at a rate of 10 gallons per minute for a period of 3 minutes. Leakage shall not exceed an
average of 10 drops per minute collectively.
4.7.2 Bearing seals examination. To determine conformance to 3.4.4.2, prior to and after fording and amphibious operations, the vehicle shall be examined for lubricant leakage and water contamination.
4.7.3 Electrical system tests.
4.7.3.1 Circuits test. To determine conformance to 3.4.6.1, electrical circuits supplying power to vehicle equipment shall be tested to assure continuity and integrity. Circuits tested for continuity prior to vehicle installation and weapon station power circuitry and circuit functions shall be verified by evidence of functional performance during operational tests. The vehicle radio shall be operated to verify transmission and reception, and it shall be verified by evidence of operational performance that the ITV electrical system is compatible with the vehicle power supply, which conforms to requirements of MIL-STD-1275.
4.7.3.2 Generating system voltage (alternator) test. To determine conformance to 3.4.6.2, with the alternator running at 4000 rpm and producing 50 + 5 amperes, a final voltage test shall be made with a voltmeter at the vehicle- battery input connector cable.
4.7.3.3 Light test. To determine conformance to 3.4.6.3, all vehicle lighting, including running lights, driver's console lights, turret level and driver level illumination, azimuth scale illumination, and weapon station indicators and brightness controls, shall be operated during and after road testing through all stages of operation.
4.7.4 Adjustment mechanisms test. To determine conformance to 3.4.7, all adjustment mechanisms shall be observed during operation, examined for proper adjustment and adjusted, if required.
