3.6.13.1.2 Internal atmosphere (ITA). The ITA, after being pressure sealed, shall exhibit no evidence of moisture, internal condensation, or internal image fogging. The pressurized sections of the ITA shall be initially purged and charged with nitrogen, conforming to BB-N-411, type I, class 1, grade A or B.
3.6.13.1.3 Image movement. The image transmitted to the gunner through the acquisition sight, daysight, or nightsight, shall not exhibit any random movement during weapon station operations which impair or degrade gunner vision or system tracking performance.
3.6.13.2 Squad leader periscope. The squad leader periscope (SLP) shall provide the following articulation of the line-of-sight:
Azimuth + 360 degrees Elevation 10 degrees Depression 20 degrees
The SLP magnification shall be 4.0X and the field of view shall be 12.5 degrees.
3.6.14 Boresight.
3.6.14.1 Daysight/tracker. The IR line of sight of the missile tracker shall be the reference to which the TOW daysight/tracker visual line of sight is aligned. The daysight visual line of sight shall be used as a reference for alignment of the nightsight and missile launch tubes.
3.6.14.2 Nightsight. The nightsight optical line of sight shall be aligned to that of the daysight by means of the nightsight boresight collimator.
3.6.14.3 Launch tubes. The centerline of the missile launch tubes shall be aligned to the visual line of sight (LOS) of the daysight/tracker in accordance with the following requirements:
a. Left launch tube:
Centerline pitch above LOS: 0.60 + .15, - .1 degree
Centerline toe-in toward LOS: 0.78 + .15 degrees
b. Right launch tube:
Centerline pitch above LOS: 0.60 + .15, - .1 degree
Centerline toe-in toward LOS: 0.43 + .15 degrees
The launch tubes' boresight shall remain within the specified tolerances for the full range of launcher elevation angles.
