3.4.11 Weight. The M901 vehicle weight, when combat loaded in accordance with applicable drawings, shall not exceed 26,300 pounds.
3.4.12 Stowed equipment. All interior and exterior Basic Issue Items (BII), shall be stowed (combat loaded) on the vehicle in the spaces provided. Items shall fit properly and shall not interfere with the operation of vehicle and components in any manner.
3.4.12.1 Stowage list, hard equipment items. Manufacturer and depot installed hard equipment shall consist of:
a. M60 Machine gun (or simulator). b. Radio and associated equipment. c. Tow equipment.
d. Simulated TOW missile round. e. Ammunition boxes.
f. Water cans.
3.4.13 Fastener torque. All fastener torque shall conform to good commercial practice. Torque values shall be appropriate for size of bolt and fastener attaching conditions.
3.5 Break-in run. Prior to tests, each vehicle shall be given a break-in run for a distance of fifty miles or more on smooth, level, hard-surfaced roads, except that a section of road shall be as shown in figure 1. Figure 1 section shall be traversed at least once every five miles. After the break-in run, there shall be no indication of damaged components, loss of original adjustment, or other defects that may cause faulty vehicle operation subsequent to Government acceptance. The vehicle shall also be subjected to the slope test (see 4.7.20).
3.5.1 Preparation. Prior to break-in run, except for equipment and component installation and servicing performed by the contractor as a final processing of the vehicle for acceptance, the vehicle prepared for system integration shall be completely assembled with all adjustments completed. The vehicle, including all components requiring lubrication, shall be lubricated and serviced as specified in drawing 10942803. Specific applications by grades or types for various expected seasonal temperature ranges shall be as specified. The vehicle engine air intake filter shall be inspected to assure that it is free of chips and dirt.
3.6 Performance. A complete vehicle, loaded to 26,300 pounds and serviced as specified in
3.5.1, shall perform as specified herein with launcher in stowed position unless otherwise noted.
