MIL-V-62347(AT)
mode. Unless otherwise specified (see 6.2), the tracking and slewing rate performance specified herein is contingent upon regulated hydraulic pressure (3.6.12.7.3) being supplied to the azimuth and elevation drive systems.
3.6.12.6.1 Azimuth drive. The azimuth drive shall provide weapon station rate control in two speed ranges, track and slew as defined herein.
3.6.12.6.1.1 Slew speed range. At the maximum control handle displacement in traverse, the weapon station speed in the slew mode over a level arc shall be not less than 35 degrees/second.
3.6.12.6.1.2 Track speed range. The azimuth drive shall maintain a minimum rate of
.1 MRAD per second.
3.6.12.6.2 Elevation rate. At the maximum control handle displacement, the launcher rate in either elevation or depression shall be not less than 12 degrees per second within 25 degree depression to 30 degree elevation. The elevation drive system shall provide a capability for maintaining a minimum elevation rate of .1MRAD per second.
3.6.12.6.3 Target tracking. The weapon station, when operated by qualified personnel shall remain on a crossing target 85 percent of the time during the tracking event. The time duration of a tracking event shall be a minimum of 8 seconds. The target shall provide the following:
a. Square, 4.25 MRAD per side.
b. Range of peak azimuth rates, 0. to 25. MRAD per second. c. Range of peak elevation rates, 0. to 2. MRAD per second.
3.6.12.7 Hydraulic system.
3.6.12.7.1 Power supply. The hydraulic system power supply shall be an electric pump motor. Primary power to the weapon station shall be required for its operation. Normal system accumulator pressure range shall be 1525 psi to 1900 psi, except when overridden by the erection drive. Maximum accumulator pressure shall be limited to 2350 psi. Pressure loss shall not exceed 300 psi in 7 minutes for non-active, erect launcher and fully pressurized system.
3.6.12.7.2 Fluid. The hydraulic system shall use fluid in accordance with MIL-H-5606 or MIL-H-6083. The hydraulic system reservoir dipstick shall indicate the full fluid level. The hydraulic system shall conform to cleanliness level 300 as specified in MIL-STD-1246.
