4.2.2.5 Test conditions. Unless otherwise specified in 4.2.5, tests shall be conducted at the ambient temperature and climatic conditions existing at the place of test. Prior to commencement of initial production testing, vehicle shall have been prepared for operation in accordance with 3.6. During test, the vehicle will receive servicing and adjusting at intervals specified in the contractor's literature previously furnished to the Government representative.
4.2.2.6 Driver-operator. Driver shall be an experienced operator and shall be capable of, and required to give objective opinions of the vehicles' handling, operational, and human engineering characteristics to the Government representative. These opinions shall be evaluated by the Government and contractor with regard to importance and necessary action.
4.2.2.7 Rejection. Permanent deformation, overheating, malfunction, component interference, failure to meet performance requirements, failure to complete any test, or leakage of fuel, lubricants or hydraulic fluid will be basis for rejection of the initial production test vehicle.
If such deficiencies do arise, they will be corrected on site and the initial production vehicle test will be repeated. Acceptance of the initial production test vehicle shall not constitute a waiver by the Government of its rights under provisions of the contract.
4.2.3 Radio frequency suppression verification. The vehicle manufacturer shall furnish, with the questionnaire (vehicle descriptive data), a description of all interference suppression devices used to suppress the vehicle in accordance with SAE J551. Data shall be sufficient for visual determination that all required suppression devices are installed on the vehicle. When specified
in 3.1.1.6, the EMI shall be tested to verify that the components meet the requirements of MIL-STD-461. Certified test reports shall be provided that the vehicle meets or exceeds the requirements of 3.1.1.6 when specified or the requirements of 3.1.1.6.1. Method and visual verification shall be provided.
4.2.4 Fifth wheel lift capacity verification. The vehicle manufacturer shall furnish certified test data verifying the capability of the hydraulic lift fifth wheel to lift and support a load of
50,000 pounds over the kingpin throughout the lifting range as specified in 3.5.
