3.5.4.5 Utility trays. Two utility trays, 330x300x200 mm (13x12x8 inches) in size, shall be furnished in the two bottom cubicles of the spare parts cabinet. Utility trays shall be plastic coated metal wire mesh similar and equal to McMaster-Carr catalog number 4540Y31
(see figure 2).
3.5.4.6 Miscellaneous metal work. Cabinet framing for the shelves shall be joined to vehicle walls and ceiling with sheet metal as required to close off all cavities between cabinet framing for the calibration shelves, and walls or ceiling to present a smooth, neat appearance. Joining shall be such that cabinet and framing for the calibration shelves may be removed without special tools or drilling for installing in other panel trucks. The calibration equipment shelves, metal panel back and expanded metal and attendant metal work shall block and prevent entry to cargo space from crew area.
3.5.4.7 Cargo compartment floor. The cargo floor shall be covered with at least a minimum of 19 mm (0.75 inch) exterior grade, one side sanded plywood floor. Plywood shall be treated as specified in MIL-STD-1223 for sub floors. Floor shall be painted conforming to 3.5.4.9.
3.5.4.7.1 Rear door(s) cargo compartment opening. The threshold shall be covered with a metal edge protector to prevent damage to the plywood floor.
3.5.4.7.2 Footman's loops. Footman's loops conforming to MS 51939 shall be provided and installed in floor of the panel truck in the approximate locations shown in figure 2. Footman's loop shall be anchored to floor of vehicle in the recessed channel of floor or other procedures
may be used to install loops in a manner that they are completely below level of the floor top surface. Footman's and its attaching member shall exceed the loads imposed by the restraint system.
3.5.4.8 Container stowage. Provisions shall be made for stowage of two each Container Assembly, Army Drawing 792189 at the rear of the panel truck. Weight of each container with its payload is 115 kg (250 pounds). Four footman's loops and web belting shall be provided for lashing containers to the floor (see figure 2).
3.5.4.8.1 Container tiedown straps. Four pairs of footman's loops to secure the containers in 3.5.4.8 shall be located as shown in figure 2. Footman's loop shall conform to MS 51939. Web strapping, 8 each, 25 mm (1 inch) in width and 3.2 mm (0.125 inch) in thickness, 3050 mm (10 feet) in length, cadmium plated malleable iron buckle and nickel plated steel tip attached to the opposite end of the web strap conforming to McMasters-Carr part No. 9592M1F shall be furnished (see figure 2). Footman's loop and its attaching member load rating shall exceed the loads imposed by the container restraint system.
