The vehicle has an integral drivers compartment and body for later installation of such special equipment as may be desired. Vehicles procured under this specification are commercial items which are warranted by the manufacturer as specified in procurement documents.

observed for leakage into the interior of the vehicle.  The interior of the underbody storage compartments shall be examined for leakage.  Any evidence of leakage (water or moisture) shall be cause for rejection.

*          4.4.4  Truck body treatment and painting.  A certification regarding the body cleaning, treating, prime painting and salt spray resistance testing, as required by MIL-STD-1223, shall be made to the Government representatives at the first production vehicle inspection.

*          4.4.5  Radio frequency suppression verification.  The vehicle manufacturer shall indicate on the questionnaire (commercial vehicle engineering data) if the vehicle will be suppressed to limit electromagnetic radiation in accordance with SAE J551.

4.4.6  Production sample.  Upon acceptance of the first production vehicle, it shall remain at the manufacturing facility as a production sample, and be the last vehicle shipped on the contract.  The contractor shall maintain the vehicle in a serviceable condition for the duration of the contract.

4.4.7  Failure.  Failure of the first production vehicle to meet requirements of the contract shall be cause for the Government to refuse acceptance of all vehicles under contract until corrective action has been taken.

4.5  Inspection of production vehicles.  The contractor's inspection system shall, as a minimum, assure that the vehicle conforms to the physical and dimensional requirements and is capable of meeting performance requirements contained herein.  For each vehicle under contract, the contractor shall make available to the Government at the point of final acceptance, records acceptable to the Government indicating that the servicing and adjusting required by 3.4.28 have been accomplished.

*          4.5.1  Vehicle body inspection.  Vehicle bodies installed on the chassis shall be inspected for the characteristics and defects contained in table II.  All noted defects shall be corrected.
