MILITARY SPECIFICATION
TRUCK, REFUSE COLLECTION: COMPACTION TYPE, ONE PERSON OPERATION, AUTOMATED SIDE-LOADING, 20 YARD, DUAL RIGHT AND LEFT HAND DRIVE, DIESEL ENGINE DRIVEN,
32,000 POUNDS GVW, 4x2, WITH TILT CAB, COMMERCIAL
This specification is approved for use by all departments and agencies of the
Department of Defense.
1. SCOPE
1.1 Scope. This specification covers a diesel engine driven, four-wheel, two wheel-drive, tilt cab, commercial, one-person operation refuse collection truck. The truck shall have dual right and left hand drive and a minimum gross vehicle weight (GVW) of 32,000 pounds. The minimum compaction volume of the body, excluding the hopper, shall be 20 cubic yards, and shall be side-loading and rear dumping. Vehicles procured under this specification are commercial items which shall be warranted by the manufacturer as specified in procurement documents.

2.1 Government documents.
2.1.1 Specifications, standards, and handbooks. Unless otherwise specified, the following specifications, standards, and handbooks of the issue listed in that issue of the Department of Defense Index of Specifications and Standards (DoDISS) specified in the solicitation form a part of this specification to the extent specified herein.
