MILITARY SPECIFICATION
TRUCK TRACTOR: YARD TYPE, 4X2, M878
This specification is approved for use by all Departments and Agencies of the
Department of Defense.
1. SCOPE
1.1 Scope. This specification covers diesel engine driven, four-wheel, two rear wheel drive truck-tractor, yard type, with a one man half cab, having a minimum gross vehicle weight rating (GVWR) of 43,500 pounds and a gross combination weight rating (GCWR) of 100,000 pounds. Vehicles under this specification shall be procured only from a manufacturer who meets the standard commercial and commercially proven component criteria. Vehicles shall be warranted by the manufacturer as specified in the procurement documents.
2. APPLICABLE DOCUMENTS
2.1 Issues of documents. The following documents of the issue in effect on date of invitation for bids or request for proposal, form a part of this specification to the extent specified herein.
