PERFORMANCE SPECIFICATION
TRUCKS, TANK: POTABLE WATER, 1000 AND 2200 GALLON,
DIESEL AND GASOLINE ENGINE DRIVEN, 19 000 AND 34 500
POUNDS GVW, 4x2, 4x4, AND 6x4, COMMERCIAL
This specification is approved for use by all Departments and Agencies
of the Department of Defense.
1. SCOPE
1.1 Scope. This specification covers diesel and gasoline engine driven, four-wheel,
two-rear-wheel drive, and four-wheel, four-wheel drive, potable water tank trucks with a 1000
gallon capacity, having a minimum GVW of 19 000 pounds for normal operating conditions; and
diesel engine driven, six-wheel, four-wheel-drive, 2200 gallon capacity potable water tank trucks,
having a minimum GVW of 34 500 pounds for normal operating conditions. Vehicles procured
under this specification are commercial items which are warranted by the manufacturer as
specified in acquisition documents.
